Samsung INR21700-50E

The Samsung 50E is a high-energy 21700 cell rated at 5,000 mAh with 9.8 A continuous discharge. In a 4S4P arrangement, 16 cells deliver 14.4 V nominal at 20,000 mAh — enough energy to fly 100+ km on a single charge.

Each pack is assembled by hand: cells are sorted by internal resistance, spot-welded with nickel strip, and enclosed in a custom-fit housing that slides into the fuselage payload bay.

Pack Design

Spot-Welded Nickel Strip

Each cell is connected with pure nickel strip, spot-welded for low-resistance joints that maintain performance across hundreds of charge cycles.

Integrated BMS

A battery management system monitors individual cell voltages, prevents over-discharge, and ensures balanced charging across all 16 cells.

Balance Charging

The 4S4P configuration charges through a balance connector, equalizing voltage across all four series groups for maximum pack longevity.

Thermal Management

Cell spacing and pack geometry are designed to allow passive cooling during high-power VTOL phases, keeping cell temperatures within safe limits.
