Autonomous Missions
Plan the mission. Upload. Arm. Fly. ArduPilot's AUTO mode handles everything — VTOL takeoff, cruise, waypoints, and precision landing.
Mission Workflow
Plan the Mission
Open QGroundControl or Mission Planner. Draw the flight path on the map — set takeoff point, cruise altitude, waypoints, loiter points, and landing coordinates.
Upload to Aircraft
Connect to the Stork via USB or telemetry link. Upload the mission file to the SpeedyBee F405 Wing flight controller. Verify waypoints on the map display.
Pre-Flight Check
Load the payload, check battery voltage, verify GPS lock (10+ satellites), and confirm control surface movement. ArduPilot runs its own internal pre-arm checks.
Arm and Launch
Switch to AUTO mode on the RC transmitter. Arm the aircraft. The Stork lifts off vertically, transitions to cruise, and follows the programmed flight path autonomously.
Monitor (Optional)
Track the mission in real-time via QGroundControl over 4G LTE. Position, altitude, battery, airspeed — all visible on the map. Override or trigger RTL at any time.
Autonomous Landing
At the final waypoint, the Stork transitions back to VTOL, descends, and lands precisely at the programmed coordinates. Mission complete.
QGroundControl
QGroundControl is a free, open-source ground station application that works on Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android. It provides a visual mission editor, real-time flight monitoring, and vehicle configuration tools.
Draw waypoints on a satellite map, set altitude and speed for each leg, add DO commands (like camera triggers), and upload the complete mission to the Stork in seconds.
Always in Control
Autonomous does not mean uncontrolled. The operator can override AUTO mode at any time — switch to FBWA for manual flight, trigger RTL to bring the aircraft home, or modify waypoints mid-mission.
ArduPilot's failsafe system runs continuously. If the battery drops, the signal is lost, or GPS fails, the aircraft responds automatically according to its configured failsafe actions.
